Summary

Amends the Death on the High Seas Act (the Act) to provide that a cause of action for a maritime accident (currently, commercial aviation accident) that results in the death of a person due to a wrongful act, neglect, or default occurring on the high seas 12 nautical miles or closer to the shore of any state, or the District of Columbia, or the U.S. Territories shall be brought under federal, state, and other appropriate law and not under the provisions of the Act (where actions for such accidents occurring on the high seas beyond a marine league from the shore of such places can be brought in U.S. district courts, in admiralty).
