Summary

Amends title XVI (Supplemental Security Income) (SSI) of the Social Security Act (the Act) to treat an individual who becomes eligible for SSI benefits by reason of his or her receipt of Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance (OASDI) (title II of the Act) benefits, or a veterans' compensation or pension as continuing to receive SSI benefits for Medicaid (title XIX of the Act) eligibility purposes for so long as he or she would remain eligible for SSI benefits but for the receipt of OASDI or veterans' benefits. Makes such provision ineffective when the coinsurance percentage for outpatient drug coverage under part B (Supplementary Medical Insurance) of title XVIII (Medicare) of the Act is 20 percent or less.
