An Act to amend the Federal charter for Group Hospitalization and Medical Services, Inc., and for other purposes.

Summary

Repeals the Federal charter granted to Group Hospitalization and Medical Services, Inc. Authorizes the corporation to file articles of incorporation under the District of Columbia Nonprofit Corporation Act. Provides that, notwithstanding provisions of the District of Columbia Self-Government and Governmental Reorganization Act that require congressional review of certain acts passed by the District of Columbia Council before they become effective, the Hospital and Medical Services Corporation Regulatory Act of 1996 shall become effective upon its enactment or the enactment of this Act, whichever occurs later.
