Coastal and Fisheries Improvement Act of 2000

Summary

Amends the National Marine Sanctuaries Act to direct the Secretary of Commerce to establish and administer through the National Ocean Service the Dr. Nancy Foster Oceanographic Scholarship Program under which scholarships shall be awarded to: (1) recognize outstanding scholarship by women and members of minority groups in oceanography or maritime cultural studies; and (2) encourage independent graduate level research in such studies.
