Summary
Ethics in Patient Referrals Act of 1988 - Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to prohibit an entity from furnishing a Medicare-covered service to an individual if the individual's referring physician has a financial interest in, or receives compensation from, such entity. Sets forth exceptions to such prohibition. Imposes sanctions against persons who present claims for the delivery of services prohibited by this Act.
