Summary
National Forests Improvement Pilot Program Act - Directs the Secretary of Agriculture to: (1) carry out a ten-year pilot program (with a discretionary ten-year extension) in three Forest Service Regions (representing different ecosystems) to evaluate State administration of National Forest System lands; (2) contract with the Forest Stewardship Council to evaluate such forests' environmental progress; (3) terminate the pilot program with respect to a test forest whose environmental condition worsens; and (4) carry out the program through the use of reserved Forest Service funds.
