Summary

Countering the Chinese Government and Communist Party's Political Influence Operations Act This bill directs the Department of State to report to Congress on Chinese government and Communist Party political influence operations with respect to the United States, including efforts to: (1) corrupt U.S. governmental or nongovernmental institutions or individuals, (2) coerce U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents or their families or relatives living in China, and (3) undermine democratic institutions and freedoms. The report shall include recommendations with respect to countering such operations, including by establishing a related permanent office in the State Department.
