Summary

Amends the Shipping Act, 1916 to require the filing of specified intermodal transportation agreements with the Federal Maritime Commission. Requires the rates for such service over a through route to be set forth in a tariff filed with the Commission. Directs the Federal Maritime Commission, the Interstate Commerce Commission and the Civil Aeronautics Board to promulgate uniform rules and regulations governing the content, format, and filing of tariffs for intermodal services. Directs the Chairmen of such regulatory bodies to report to the Congress on the need for additional legislation to facilitate intermodal transportation one year following the enactment of this Act.
