Summary

Establishes a permanent Commission on Organization of the Executive Branch which shall be composed of twelve members as follows: (1) two appointed by the President of the United States from private life; (2) two appointed by the President from the executive branch of the government; (3) four appointed by the President of the Senate, two from the Senate and two from private life; (4) four appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, two from the House and two from private life. Sets forth the compensation of the members of the Commission. Authorizes to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act. Provides that the Commission shall investigate the present organization and methods of operation of the executive branch of the Federal Government to determine what changes are necessary to promote economy, efficiency, and improved service in the transaction of the public business in the executive branch of the Government. Provides that reports of the activities of the Commission shall be submitted to Congress. Sets forth the powers of the Commission under this Act.
