Summary
Metric Conversion Act - Provides for the conversion of the United States to the metric system (the International System of Units) within 10 years from the date of enactment of this Act. Authorizes the Commissioner of Education, in consultation with the Secretary of Commerce, to conduct a program to educate the public to the metric system. Authorizes the Secretary of Commerce to make grants to individuals (not to exceed $2,000) to defray the costs of converting tools and instruments necessary to their trade or business to such system.
