Summary
Classifies all positions involving law enforcement responsibilities pertaining to care of jurors, serving writs and warrants issued by Federal courts, tracing and arresting persons under court warrants, and maintaining order in the courtroom as deputy United States Marshall. Requires such positions to be classified at GS-5 through GS-11 if such positions are non- supervisory or non-specialist and GS-12 through GS-14 if supervisory or specialist. Requires those marshals eligible for a higher grade under this Act to be promoted to the applicable grade upon the enactment of this Act. States that deputy United States marshals shall receive an appropriate rate of premium pay for long hours and hazardous duty but no overtime pay. Empowers the Director of the United States Marshal Service to establish pay rates for non-law enforcement employees of the Service. Sets the salary of the Director at the salary prescribed for level V of the Executive Schedule.
