Summary
Amends the Solid Waste Disposal Act to authorize the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to make grants to localities for the purchase of sanitation vehicles designed to improve areawide solid waste management in a manner consistent with the purposes of the Act. Stipulates that the amount of such Federal grants shall not exceed 75 percent of the total project costs. Limits the amount of grants distributed to any State to 15 percent of the total amount authorized to be appropriated in any fiscal year. Authorizes the appropriation of $40,000,000 for fiscal year 1978 to carry out the purposes of this Act.
