Summary

Allows surviving spouses of members of the uniformed services, who were widowed before the effective date of the Survivor Benefit Plan and who are eligible to receive an annuity under the Retired Serviceman's Family Protection Plan or the contingency option plan, to elect to receive, in lieu of such annuity, an annuity based on the retired or retainer pay to which the deceased spouse would have been entitled as of the effective date of such plan.
