Summary

National Environmental Policy Institute Act - Authorizes the creation of a nonprofit corporation to be named the National Environmental Policy Institute. States that duties of the Institute include: (1) the development and analysis of long-term policy alternatives for dealing with environmental problems; (2) making available advice and information developed by the Institute; and (3) identifying and exploring areas where additional environmental research and data collection is needed to deal with emerging and potential problems. Provides for a nine-member Board of Directors, and specifies the composition of such Board. Directs the Board to appoint a President. States that the Institute shall have the powers conferred upon a nonprofit corporation by the District of Columbia Nonprofit Corporation Act. Authorizes the Institute to obtain grants and accept voluntary services from specified sources. Authorizes to be appropriated for the expenses of the Institute for each of the fiscal years 1976 through 1980 the sum of $10,000,000. Provides for annual audit of the accounts of the Institute. Requires the Institute to submit an annual report to the President and the Congress.
