Summary
Minority Mental Health Support and Development Program Act of 1979 - Amends title IV of the Public Health Service Act (National Research Institutes) to direct the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare to designate the Center for Minority Group Mental Health Programs as the Division for in Minority Mental Health Programs the National Institute of Mental Health. Specifies the functions of the Division, including supporting programs with respect to the delivery of mental health services to minority populations. Authorizes the Secretary to make grants to and contracts with professional associations, nonprofit entities, and State and local agencies for such purpose.
