Summary
Establishes a National College of Ecological and Environmental Studies. Provides that the college shall be administered by a Board of Directors consisting of twelve members who shall be appointed by and who shall serve subject to the direction of the Director of the National Science Foundation. Provides that the Board shall: (1) select annually a number of outstanding undergraduate science or engineering students who have displayed interest in ecological and environmental studies; and (2) provide by grant or contract with institutions of higher education for the attendance of such students at short-term institutes or seminars at which the students so selected and professionals in the disciplines of ecology, environmental studies, and related fields may interchange knowledge and materials. Authorizes to be appropriated $100,000 for fiscal year 1974 and for each of the four succeeding fiscal years to carry out this Act.
