Freedom From Union Violence Act of 1995

Summary

Freedom From Union Violence Act of 1995 - Amends the Hobbs Act to revise the definition of "extortion" to mean the obtaining of property of another under color of official right (current law) or by threatening or placing another person in fear that any person will be subjected to bodily injury or kidnapping or that any property will be damaged. Provides that in any prosecution thereof in which the threat or fear is based on bodily injury or property damage by a labor organization member or agent, the pendency, at the time of such conduct, of a labor dispute the outcome of which could result in the obtaining of employment benefits by such member or agent does not constitute prima facie evidence the property was obtained "by" such conduct.
