Summary
South Dakota National Parks Preservation Act - Authorizes the Secretary of the Interior (Secretary), acting through the Director of the National Park Service, to enter into an appropriate form of agreement with the Secretary of the Department of Game, Fish, and Parks of South Dakota to provide for maintenance, operation, and administration of the following National Park System (NPS) units in South Dakota by the Department for a period not to exceed ten years: (1) Mount Rushmore National Memorial; (2) Wind Cave National Park; and (3) Jewel Cave National Monument. Allows the agreement to provide that: (1) the Secretary will pay the Department an annual fee in an amount not to exceed expenditures by the Secretary for maintenance, operation, and administration of the NPS units during FY 1994; and (2) if after a number of years stated in the agreement, it appears that such annual Department costs have exceeded and will continue to exceed such annual payment, the Department will be permitted to charge the public entrance fees and user fees for such NPS units in reasonable amounts agreed to by the Secretary.
