A bill to require the Commandant of the Coast Guard to convey the Coast Guard Cutter MACKINAW, upon its scheduled decommissioning, to the City and County of Cheboygan, Michigan, to use for purposes of a museum.

Summary

Directs the Commandant of the Coast Guard, upon the decommissioning of the Coast Guard Cutter MACKINAW, to convey all right, title, and interest of the United States in and to such vessel to the City and County of Cheboygan, Michigan (recipient), if the recipient meets specified conditions, including that it: (1) use the vessel for purposes of a museum; and (2) hold the government harmless for claims arising from exposure to asbestos and other hazardous materials after the conveyance.
