Economic Growth Act

Summary

Economic Growth Act - Establishes as an independent instrumentality of the Federal Government a National Commission on Economic Growth and Stability to conduct a study and report to the President with respect to major changes and long-term trends in the economy of the United States, and to propose public policies responsive to such changes and trends. Authorizes the Commission to hold hearings and to appoint staff to assist it in the performance of its functions. Provides that the Joint Economic Committee shall monitor and review the activities and reports of the Commission. Authorizes to be appropriated up to $2,000,000 for the expenses of the Commission.
