Summary
Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail Act - Provides that those segments of the Potomac Heritage Trail located within exterior boundaries of federally administered areas are designated as the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail. Authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to designate lands outside of federally administered areas as segments of the Trail upon application from the States (or the District of Columbia) involved if such segments meet specified requirements. States that such Trail shall be administered by the Secretary of the Interior. Directs the Secretary to prepare guidelines for development, management and maintenance of the Trail within three years after the effective date of this Act. Directs the Secretary to immediately utilize his authority to construct public facilities within those parts of such Trail which are located within areas of high unemployment. Authorizes the appropriation of such sums as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.
