Anti-Hoax Terrorism Act of 2001

Summary

Anti-Hoax Terrorism Act of 2001 - Amends the Federal criminal code to set penalties for knowingly engaging in any conduct that: (1) is likely to impart the false impression that activity that violates prohibitions regarding biological weapons, chemical weapons, nuclear materials, or weapons of mass destruction is occurring or will occur; and (2) may reasonably be expected to be believed to cause, or that causes, an emergency response by governmental agencies. Directs the court to order a defendant who has been convicted of such an offense to reimburse parties for any expenses incurred incident to the investigation of such offense, including the cost of any Federal military or civilian agency response to protect public health or safety. Makes such a defendant jointly and severally liable.
