Summary
Requires aircraft of the armed forces to carry operating cockpit voice recorders and flight data recorders if aircraft in the civilian sector that are similar to such aircraft (or that carry out similar functions) carry the same recorders. Requires the Secretary of Defense to prescribe: (1) regulations specifying the Department of Defense (DOD) aircraft covered by the requirements of this Act; and (2) regulations for the operations and maintenance of such recorders in DOD aircraft that are similar to regulations governing civil aircraft.
