Summary

Authorizes the Administrator of the Farmers Home Administration to make grants to eligible volunteer fire departments for the entire cost of firefighting equipment needed by such departments but which such departments are unable to purchase through resources otherwise available to them, and for the entire cost of the training necessary to enable such departments to use such equipment efficiently. Authorizes an appropriation of $17,000,000 under title IV of the Rural Development Act of 1972, $7,000,000 for which shall be for purposes of providing assistance to rural volunteer fire departments.
