Summary
Civil Rights Commission Temporary Reauthorization Act of 1989 - Amends the United States Commission on Civil Rights Act of 1983 to authorize appropriations through FY 1990. Extends the termination of the Commission to May 31, 1990. Requires the staff director of the Commission to be appointed by the Commission. (Current law requires appointment by the President with the concurrence of a majority of the Commission.)
