Summary
Designates the Kanopolis unit as part of the Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin program, Kansas. Provides that the Kanapolis unit shall be constructed, operated and maintained for the purposes of providing irrigation water for approximately twenty thousand acres of land, municipal and industrial water supply, fish and wildlife conservation and development and public outdoor recreation in accordance with the Federal reclamation laws. States that for a period of ten years from the date of enactment of this Act, no water from the unit shall be used on newly irrigated lands of any basic agricultural commodity, if the total supply of such commodity for the marketing year in which the bulk of the crop would normally be marketed is in excess normal supply. Authorizes the appropriations of $42,000,000 for construction of the unit.
