Summary

Amends the definition of the term "public institution" under title XVI (Supplemental Security Income) of the Social Security Act to permit individuals eligible for SSI payments who are residents of public institutions to continue to receive such payments regardless of the number of residents in such institution if there are no more than 20 eligible SSI recipients in the facility and provided that all residents are required to pay a reasonable amount for room, board, and services provided.
