Summary

Financial Information Privacy and Security Act - Directs the Federal financial regulatory authorities to jointly promulgate final rules to protect the privacy of confidential information relating to customers of financial institutions subject to the regulatory purview of the Federal banking agencies and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Permits an individual to bring a civil action, for punitive as well as compensatory or liquidated ($5,000) damages and attorneys fees, for violations of this Act.
