Summary
Headstart Extension Act - Amends the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to extend funding for the Headstart program. Requires that parents and area residents be involved in the selection of an agency as a Headstart agency. Stipulates that standards of performance used to evaluate Headstart programs may not be made less comprehensive than those in effect upon the date of enactment of this Act. Transfers from the Community Services Administration to the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare responsibility for publishing the required summaries of activities under such Act and their distribution to the appropriate Congressional committees.
