Summary
Wasteful Federal Programs Reduction Authorization Act This bill establishes a procedure for identifying unnecessary, defunct, or duplicative federal programs. Specifically, the bill requires the Chief Operating Officer of each agency to compile a list of such programs, based on guidance provided by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The OMB may submit to Congress proposed legislation to eliminate or consolidate the programs or program activities identified. The list identifying unnecessary, defunct, or duplicative programs shall be included in the annual budget submitted by the President to Congress.
