Summary

Directs the Secretary of the Interior or his designee to receive, investigate, settle, and pay all claims against the United States for losses incurred by oyster fishermen in the State of Louisiana in connection with the damage or destruction of oyster crops in such State as a result of certain action taken by the United States in the opening of the Bonnet Carre and Morganza spillways in the State of Louisiana during 1973, including claims for reasonable expenses incurred as a result thereof, and interest on the principal amount of such claims computed at a rate of 6 percent per annum from the date that the losses resulting in any such claim occurred. Authorizes appropriations of $5,000,000 to carry out the provisions of this Act.
