Summary
Low Tar and Nicotine Act - Provides, under the Federal Cigarette Labeling and Advertising Act, that the Federal Trade Commission shall establish acceptable maximum levels of tar, nicotine, and other incriminated agents as may be present in cigarettes, in quantities which will not post an unreasonable health hazard. States that no such standards shall be deemed consistent with consumer acceptability if conforming cigarettes would be so unacceptable to smokers as to create an illicit market for nonconforming cigarettes.
