Summary
Digital Audio Tape Recorder Act of 1990 - Prohibits the manufacture or distribution of digital audio tape recorders or interface devices which do not conform to specified criteria implementing the serial copy management system (a technical system for controlling "serial" copying on digital audio tape (DAT) recorders). Prohibits the manufacture or distribution of any device or provision of any service that circumvents such system, unless it is a professional model DAT recorder. Authorizes civil actions in Federal district court for violations of this Act.
