Summary

Medicare Hospitalization Improvements Act - Increases, under title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act, the maximum number of days of inpatient hospitalization coverage from 150 to 210. Reduces the amount of the coinsurance deduction taken from the amount payable for inpatient hospital services furnished an individual from one-half to one-fourth of the amount of the inpatient hospital deductible imposed under the Social Security Act. States that such coinsurance charge shall apply to all payments for inpatient hospital services after such services have been supplied for 60 days during any spell of illness.
