Summary
Amends the National School Lunch Act to require the Secretary of Agriculture (the Secretary), in prescribing minimum nutritional requirements for lunches served by schools participating in the school lunch program, to: (1) consider as having met such requirements any lunches that are consistent with current Dietary Guidelines for Americans published by the Secretary and the Secretary of Health and Human Services; (2) use the nutritive value of foods, rather than food components, in defining school lunch patterns; and (3) encourage use of locally produced foods.
