Summary

Amends the Presidential Inaugural Ceremonies Act to redefine the term "inaugural period" to mean the period including a reasonable number of days before and after the day of the inauguration of the President required for the preparation and closing of inaugural activities. Amends the Federal and Administrative Services Act authorize the Administrator of General Services to to provide direct assistance to and perform special services for the joint congressional committee appointed to make necessary arrangements for a Presidential inauguration. Permits the Secretary of Defense to provide services to support legitimate requests of such a joint committee or the Inaugural Committee. Requires such a joint committee to reimburse the Government for only costs of transporting and operating such materials, and for any lost or damaged materials.
