Summary

Provides that the proposed motor vehicle safety standards with respect to fuel system integrity, to be effective as of September 1, 1976, and September 1, 1977, shall be effective as of September 1, 1975, and September 1, 1976. Provides that State vehicle inspection programs shall provide assurances that any supplemental fuel tank installed in a motor vehicle after manufacture meets specified safety standards. Requires that any such supplemental tank be at least as safe as fuel tanks installed in such vehicle at the time of manufacture.
