Summary
National Space Grant Act - Amends the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Act by authorizing the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to enter into contracts for, or to make grants in support of, scientific research and development at institutions of higher education and at nonprofit organizations. Instructs the Administration to focus its support on educational institutions that will establish centers of space science expertise. Vests in institutions and organizations receiving sums under this Act title to equipment purchased with grant or contract funds. Authorizes the appropriation of $5,000,000 to the Administration for fiscal year 1977 for the purpose of carrying out this Act.
