Summary
Better Financial Aid for Working Students Act of 1997 - Amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 with respect to the student contribution from available income component of the student aid needs analysis formula. Revises the adjustment to student income (which is subtracted from the student contribution) to: (1) increase the income protection allowance from $1,750 to $3,500; and (2) reduce assessment of the student's available income from 50 percent to 35 percent for the first $1,500 of such income.
