Summary

Yosemite Emergency Restoration and Construction Act of 1997 - Authorizes appropriations for FY 1997 for use by the Secretary of the Interior for cleanup and repair of flood damage to the facilities of Yosemite National Park and other national parks in California (including Redwood, Sequoia-Kings Canyon, and Lassen Volcanic National Parks, Devils Postpile and Lava Beds National Monuments, and Whiskeytown National Recreation Area) caused by heavy rains and flooding in December 1996 and January 1997. Authorizes appropriations for FY 1998 for the establishment of a mass transit system at Yosemite. Earmarks amounts to be used for the purchase of electric buses and alternative-fueled buses.
