Summary
Nebraska Streambank Erosion Prevention and Control Demonstration Act of 1985 - Authorizes and directs the Secretary of the Army, acting through the Chief of Engineers, to establish and conduct for a period of five fiscal years a streambank erosion prevention and control demonstration program at multiple sites in Nebraska. Directs the Secretary, for each demonstration project under this Act, to evaluate the environmental impacts of such project, with the view of minimizing environmental losses. Specifies various sites within the State of Nebraska at which such demonstration projects shall be conducted. Directs the Secretary to establish a Nebraska Advisory Group. Provides that all projects shall be carried out at full Federal expense. Directs non-Federal interests to agree to provide without cost to the United States all lands, easements, and rights-of-way necessary for conducting such projects, to hold the United States free from liability for work done under such projects, and to operate and maintain such projects upon completion. Authorizes appropriations for fiscal years beginning after September 30, 1985. Directs the Secretary to report annually to the Congress concerning such programs.
