Summary

National Boxing Commission Act of 2001 - Establishes the National Boxing Commission to protect the health, safety, and general interests of boxers. Sets forth provisions for the licensing and registration of boxing personnel. Prohibits a person from competing in a boxing match or serving as a judge, referee, or other boxing official unless licensed under this Act. Requires the registration of promoters, managers, trainers, and related boxing personnel. Requires the Commission to: (1) maintain a unified national computerized registry for the collection, storage, and retrieval of specified information on professional boxers and other boxing personnel; and (2) certify for any boxing match the information publicized on the participating boxers' medical history, biographical information, and numbers of matches won and lost. Sets forth additional required functions of the Commission. Sets forth requirements for: (1) the suspension or revocation of licenses or registration issued under this Act; (2) the issuance of summary orders prohibiting the holding of certain proposed boxing matches; and (3) investigations of and injunctions against violations of this Act. Requires any agency that regulates professional boxing for a State or Indian tribe to submit a local boxing plan to the Commission. Requires annual audits of the Commission's finances by the General Accounting Office.
