Summary

Amends the Older Americans Act of 1965 to create a volunteer service coordinator position at the local area on aging level in order to: (1) encourage and enlist the services of volunteer groups to assist the elderly; (2) encourage and organize the use of older Americans as volunteers; and (3) promote the recognition of the contributions to Older Americans Act programs by volunteers. Creates a position at the State level in order to: (1) coordinate the volunteer services offered between the various areas on aging; and (2) provide appropriate assistance to area coordinators. Allows local areas on aging to use existing Older Americans Act funds to cover the costs of providing for area volunteer services coordinators.
