Summary
Federal Records Management Amendments - Imposes specified responsibilities upon the Administrator of General Services including: (1) promulgation of standards and procedures for records management by Federal agencies; (2) establishment of interagency committees and boards as necessary to provide an exchange of information among Federal agencies with respect to records management; and (3) dissemination of information with respect to technological development in records management. Requires the Administrator to report annually to the Congress and to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget on the results of his activities under this Act. Permits the head of a Federal agency, when approved by the Administrator, to transfer records to a records center maintained by such agency head if such agency head determines that such action may effect substantial economic or increased operating efficiency.
