Summary

Fair Labor Standards Amendments - Amends the Fair Labor Standards Act to set the non-agricultural worker minimum wage (1) with respect to the period between the enactment of this Act and January 1, 1978, at not less than 55 percent of the average hourly earnings of production workers during 1976; and (2) with respect to each succeeding calendar year, at not less than 60 percent of the average hourly earnings of production workers during the year ending the preceding September 30. Sets the agricultural worker minimum wage (1) with respect to the period between the enactment of this Act and January 1, 1978, at $.05 less than the non-agricultural worker minimum wage; and (2) with respect to each succeeding calendar year, at not less than the non-agricultural worker minimum wage. Sets the minimum wage for workers brought within the purview of the Fair Labor Standards Act by the Fair Labor Standards Amendments of 1966, title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, or the Fair Labor Standards Amendments of 1974 at not less than non-agricultural minimum wage. Repeals the provision authorizing the taking into account of tips in determining wages for the purpose of minimum wage requirements.
