A bill to provide for the rescheduling of methaqualone into schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act, and for other purposes.

Summary

Transfers methaqualone from Schedule II (abuse potential, but with accepted U.S. medical use) to Schedule I (abuse potential, with no accepted U.S. medical use) of the Controlled Substances Act. Makes such transfer effective no later than 90 days after enactment of this Act. Prohibits new drug approval for methaqualone 30 days after such transfer.
