Summary

Gold Medal Technical Corrections Act of 2014 - Amends federal law to authorize the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate (currently, the President) to present, on behalf of Congress, a gold medal to Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. and his widow Coretta Scott King in recognition of their service to the nation. Requires, following award of the gold medal, that it be given to the Smithsonian Institution to be available for display as appropriate and made available for research. Expresses the sense of Congress that the Smithsonian Institution shall make the gold medal available for display, particularly at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, or for appropriate loan to be displayed elsewhere, particularly at other appropriate locations associated with their lives. Amends federal law authorizing the award of a single congressional gold medal to honor collectively the Montford Point Marines, U.S. Marine Corps, in recognition of their dedicated service during World War II. Requires, following award of the gold medal, that it be given to the Smithsonian Institution to be available for display as appropriate and made available for research. Expresses the sense of Congress that the Smithsonian shall make the gold medal available for display, particularly at the National Museum, or for appropriate loan to be displayed elsewhere, particularly at other appropriate locations associated with the Montford Point Marines.
