An act to restore to the Shivwits, Kanosh, Koosharem, and Indian Peaks Bands of Paiute Indians of Utah, and with respect to the Cedar City Band of Paiute Indians of Utah, to restore or confirm, the Federal trust relationship, to restore to members of such Bands those Federal services and benefits furnished to American Indian tribes by reason of such trust relationship, and for other purposes.

Summary

Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah Restoration Act - Restores Federal recognition and services and benefits as a tribe to the Cedar City, Shivwits, Kanosh, Koosharem, and Indian Peaks Bands of Paiute Indians of Utah. Restores certain rights and privileges, but does not grant or restore any hunting, fishing, or trapping rights, or a reservation for such tribe or its members. Reopens the final membership list of such tribe. Provides procedures for the election, under the supervision of the Secretary of the Interior, of an interim tribal council, which shall govern the tribe until the adoption of permanent bylaws and a constitution. Provides for a tribal election, under the supervision of the Secretary and the interim council, for adoption of a constitution and bylaws establishing a permanent government and tribal membership rules.
