A bill to amend section 992 of title 28, United States Code, to provide a member of the United States Sentencing Commission whose term has expired may continue to serve until a successor is appointed or until the expiration of the next session of Congress.

Summary

Amends the Federal judicial code to authorize a voting member of the U.S. Sentencing Commission whose term has expired to continue to serve until the earlier of the date on which: (1) a successor has taken office; or (2) the Congress adjourns sine die to end the session of Congress that commences after the date on which the member's term expired. Makes this Act applicable to the term of any such member whose term expires on October 31, 1991.
