Export Administration Amendments of 1974

Summary

Export Administration Amendments - Provides that the Secretary of Commerce shall monitor exports of any articles when the volume of such exports in relation to domestic supply may have a serious adverse effect on the economy. States that it is the policy of the United States to foster international cooperation and the development of international rules and institutions to assure reasonable access to world supplies. Requires approval or disapproval of export licenses within ninety days after submission of an application for such license. Provides procedures for hardship relief from export controls. Authorizes the Secretary of Defense to review any proposed exporting of goods to determine whether or not the export of such goods will significantly increase the military capability of such country, and if so, to recommend to the President that such exports be disapproved.
